How to use Google Disavow Tool step by step

Google's Disavow tool allows website owners to tell Google to ignore certain backlinks to their site. This can be useful if a website has a large number of low-quality or spammy backlinks pointing to it, which can harm its search engine rankings.

Here's a step-by-step guide on how to use the Disavow tool:

  1. Go to the Disavow tool page by logging into your Google Search Console account and clicking on the "Disavow links" option under the "Security & Manual Actions" section.

  2. Select the website that you want to disavow links for.

  3. Click on the "Disavow links" button.

  4. Create a text file with a list of the links that you want to disavow. The file should be plain text and should list one link per line. You can also provide a comment next to the link if you want.

  5. Click on the "Choose file" button and select the text file that you created in step 4.

  6. Click on the "Upload" button to submit the file.

It's important to note that using the Disavow tool should be a last resort and used only if you have tried to contact the website owners to remove the links. Also, it can take some time for Google to process the disavow request and for the links to be ignored.

Also, it's important to mention that the disavow tool is only applicable for backlinks, it will not help in case of any other manual action taken by google.
